Find commonality as a way back to yourself
Find connection through shared human experiences.
We are bombarded by comparisons and somehow led to believe that better and worse come from contrasts and differences.
Yet we might find our way back to more inner peace if we look instead for similarities — for common ground.
We are all having a human experience,
and at the core, we feel similar emotions.
We can all relate to:
deep loss,
grief,
heartbreak,
despair,
the courage it takes to keep going,
the resilience we reach for in times of hardship,
the difference empathy and compassion can make — to be seen in what we are going through.
Finding similarities can lead to closer connections — something we can lose sight of when we compare and contrast.
It can also help us feel safer, more connected, part of something greater than ourselves.
Me versus you.
Us versus them.
Or us, altogether, as part of the same human story.
So perhaps look for what connects you.
Notice if that shifts your internal sensations — toward safety and belonging.
And in that, you may find your way back to a steadier, more peaceful self.
